After an intense first year of work, the Chiral-Pro consortium met on April 13th and 14th, 2026 in Antwerp (Belgium), in a meeting hosted by Prof. Sara Bals, to assess the progress made so far and agree to the next steps.
CHIRAL-PRO began its implementation successfully in April 2025, and the consortium celebrated its kick-off meeting last June at the Center for Research in Nanomaterials and Biomedicine -CINBIO- in Vigo (Spain). Since then, the research teams led by Prof. Bals at the University of Antwerp, Prof. Nicholas Kotov at the University of Michigan, and Prof. Luis Liz-Marzán at the University of Vigo and CIC biomaGUNE have celebrated periodic follow-up meetings to assess technical progress and manage the project.
This week the partners held a productive meeting in Antwerp to strengthen the collaboration and to discuss the advances on chiral nanoparticles synthesis, identification of chiral ligands and chirality descriptors, characterization of chiroptical properties, and interaction with proteins.
